Temporary Medicaid for Pregnant Women
MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women and Newborns
This is the state’s MO HealthNet program for pregnant women and newborns. This program provides healthcare coverage, including sixty-day postpartum coverage, for pregnant women whose family income does not exceed 185% of the federal poverty level for their household size. Once eligible, the coverage continues through the postpartum period despite subsequent increases in income.
Children born to a woman eligible for and receiving MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women or other MO HealthNet health care coverage on the date of the infant’s birth continue to be eligible for MO HealthNet coverage throughout the first year of life as long as the child remains in the mother’s home and maintains Missouri residence.
Who Is Eligible?
A woman:
- who is pregnant and provides pregnancy verification;
- who applies for a social security number for herself;
- who lives in Missouri and intends to remain;
- who is a United States citizen or an eligible qualified non-citizen; and
- whose net family income for household size does not exceed 185% of the federal poverty level. For purposes of this program, the pregnant woman is counted as two people (mother and unborn child).

Uninsured Women’s Health Services Program
This program provides MO HealthNet coverage for women’s health services to uninsured women ages 18 up to but not including age 55 whose net family income does not exceed 185% of the federal poverty level for their household size. Women’s health services are:
- Approved methods of contraception;
- Sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, including pap tests and pelvic exams;
- Family planning, counseling, education on various methods of birth control; and
- Drugs, supplies, or devices related to the women’s health services described above, when they are prescribed by a physician or advanced practice nurse.
Who Is Eligible?
A woman:
- who is 18 up to but not including age 55;
- who applies for a social security number for herself;
- who lives in Missouri and intends to remain;
- who is a United States citizen or an eligible qualified non-citizen;
- whose net family income for household size does not exceed 185% of the federal poverty level.
- whose available resources do not exceed $250,000;
- who is uninsured;
- who has no access to employer-sponsored insurance; and
- who is ineligible for any other MO HealthNet program.

The Reynolds County Health Center has a signed contract with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Region G WIC Group to continue to provide WIC services for federal fiscal year 2019. Under the terms of the contract, the Reynolds County Health Center will be able to serve 133 persons eligible for WIC every month. Total caseload for the year is 1,601 participants.
